Automation topics are great to do and showcase on your programming projects portfolio. This video has some great automation projects ideas:
i just started learning python and need to do some projects, this is super helpful thanks! do you have any tips on building a portfolio?
Ofc, there’s a few steps to building a good portfolio. First of all, you’ll have to be proficient enough in Python to build some more advanced projects, which employers will be interested in. Then, after that you’ll generally want to:
-
Show a range of different projects, where they are not too similar so that employers know you can push boundaries and try out different things, not just sticking to one thing
-
Not only different types of projects, but using different libraries, skills and APIs as well
-
Don’t only show the final product, it is a good idea to show the process and workflow, including the general steps you took to achieve the final product, wireframes can also be useful
-
Show how your projects solve different problems, so I think in your case for biomedical sciences you’d want to look at how your code addresses different biomedical issues, and how your code mitigates these issues
And other than that the portfolio itself, not just the projects, is also pretty important, bc you want to show specifically how you can use programming in your domain. Hope this helps
thanks so much! these points are super useful
No worries, happy to help
so much opportunity with technology
