A Conference with Dr Tanmay Bharat โ€“ Fleming Prize 2023

This conference by Fleming Prize winner Dr Tanmay Bharat, he discusses the importance of studying molecular interactions at the cell surface of prokaryotic cells and the implications for understanding fundamental microbiology and translational purposes such as drug development and synthetic biology applications. He also talks about the discovery of a mechanism by which Pseudomonas eryginosa bacteria protect themselves against antibiotics through the secretion of a phage-like molecule that self-assemble into liquid crystals and surround the bacteria.

How do you believe the prokaryotic cellsโ€™ molecular interactions can revolutionise our understanding of microbiology, medicine and biotechnology?
