Conversation with Animation Filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki

Hayao Miyazaki, renowned for his mastery in animation, has crafted a legacy through captivating films that transcend generations. The celebrated Japanese animator and filmmaker, engaged in a conversation after receiving the prestigious Berkeley Japan Prize during the UC Berkeley Center for Japanese Studies’ 50th Anniversary event in 2010. This lifetime achievement award recognised his substantial contributions to promoting global understanding of Japan’s culture. The event was co-sponsored by the Center for Japanese Studies and Cal Performances.
