Could I work for BP as a politics graduate?

The short answer is yes, yes you can.

As an oil and energy company you may expect that graduate roles at BP are excluded to just engineering and the sciences sector. However, they do offer a range of different schemes for politics and governance students.

Requirements
BP are clear that they will only accept students with a 2:1 degree and that anyone who completes a politics degree to this level is confined to the business and trade schemes.
