Exams Are Stressful. How Are You Actually Holding Up?

Hi everyone,

Let’s be honest! Exam season isn’t easy. It can feel like there’s always something you haven’t revised yet, or that everyone else somehow has it all under control while you’re just trying to survive the week.

Maths and computing can be especially tough. You’re constantly switching between solving problems, debugging code, understanding theory, and managing your time. And that’s before you even get to the stress, the tiredness, or the guilt for not studying every second of the day.

So instead of pretending we’re all fine, I thought I’d ask:

  • What’s been the hardest part of exam season for you?
  • How are you looking after yourself, even just in small ways?
  • Are you doing anything that’s helping you stay a bit more balanced or sane?
  • And if things feel overwhelming, what would you want someone to remind you of right now?

This isn’t just a place to share perfect routines. If you’re struggling, you’re definitely not the only one. Let’s talk about it honestly, support each other, and share anything that’s helping — even if it’s just taking regular snack breaks or watching a video that made a concept finally click.

Feel free to drop your thoughts below. This space is yours too :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Just had coursework to do this season, but meal prepping is always a game changer for taking care of myself during exam season. I always end up pulling long hours at library which means needing food for basically the whole day and meal prepping allows me to have healthy options while not spending any money!

Thank you for creating such an open space—this really resonated with me. The hardest part has been juggling so many topics without burning out. Lately, I’ve been taking short walks and listening to calming music, which helps more than I expected. Sometimes just hearing “you’re doing enough” makes a big difference.
