Hep C: More than 70% of Bristolians 'know nothing' of virus

Keith Hathaway, a man from Bristol diagnosed with Hepatitis C, is urging people to get tested for the virus. Supporting European Testing Week (ETW), he emphasises the importance of early detection and treatment. A survey revealed that 73% of people in Bristol have limited knowledge of Hepatitis C. Mr. Hathaway, who underwent successful treatment, works with the Hepatitis C Trust to raise awareness. ETW promotes testing for various illnesses, including Hepatitis C, encouraging people to use home-test kits if they are at risk. The initiative aims to address low public awareness and increase early detection for effective treatment of Hepatitis C, a blood-borne virus.
