There is no doubt that social media is having a huge impact on our lives. As students we our glued to our phones, on apps like Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok.
Social media in the previous years has been increasingly used by parties and politicians to reach younger audiences. This was evident with Corbyn’s 2017 Election campaign where he took social media by storm by appearing at Glastonbury.
However, it should be acknowledged that there are dangers too this. Social media provides a platform for misinformation, disinformation and echo chambers reinforcing political views or event totally misleading people.
On the other hand, social media has been utilised positively in a positive way to spread information about political causes and inform younger people about global issues.
