Nvidia’s still driving the AI train.
With CEO Jensen Huang giving his keynote address, the company unveiled its newest AI chips and GPU platform at its annual GTC event in San Jose this afternoon.
Called “Blackwell,” the company’s next generation of AI graphics processors includes the new GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip, expected to ship later this year.
“Generative AI is the defining technology of our time,” Huang said, “and Blackwell is the engine to power this new industrial revolution. Working with the most dynamic companies in the world, we will realize the promise of AI for every industry.”
Companies expected to adopt the Blackwell architecture include basically everyone: Amazon, Dell, Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Oracle, Tesla, and xAI.
While pricing wasn’t announced, Nvidia’s last generation of GPUs “Hopper,” and its H100 chip, cost between $25,000-$40,000 per chip, with whole systems running as much as $200,000.
