Smart watches could detect Parkinson's before symptoms appear

Exciting new research suggests that smartwatches have the potential to identify Parkinson’s disease up to seven years before typical symptoms manifest and a clinical diagnosis can be established.

Scientists at the UK Dementia Research Institute conducted the study. By analysing data collected from participants wearing smartwatches over a seven-day period, the researchers harnessed artificial intelligence to accurately predict individuals who would later develop Parkinson’s disease.
