The Economy 2.0: A new, free way to learn Economics

This 2018 article explains how there is a shift towards a new economic syllabus - one that is ‘is not a static equilibrium of a self-contained system, but an always-changing process that is part of the social system and biosphere, which it both impacts and reflects’

The CORE project has launched a new open-access learning website called ‘Economy 2.0’ which has a non-traditional syllabus that attempts to integrate all economic theory and also spotlight the importance of economic history.

Economic 2.0 : The Economy 2.0

As an Economics student, I found this website to be super interesting and a great supplement to my lesson materials - the userface is also extremely simple and intuitive. I think this could be a great way for non-economic students to learn Economics in a comprehensive way.

If you’ve tried Economy 2.0 out, how do you find it? If you’re an Econs student, is there anything you would want to change about how Economics is being taught?

The article is so insightful because Economics is ever changing and policies that may have worked in the past are no longer applicable to the current climate so a constantly changing course is ever so important.

I haven’t tried Economy 2.0 yet, but the concept of integrating economic theory with real-world dynamics and historical context sounds promising

As a CS student tryna learn economics, this should be very useful thank you for sharing!

Will do!

This article was super helpful as we use economics in our everyday lives without even realizing.
It’s especially important for budgeting and personal finance as we are all university students and with the rising costs this has now become an essential part of our lives.
