This seems lazy to me, I get that by making a program with selection criteria you may be able to reduce bias but surely this will make it even harder to get an interview. Can the employer set the criteria to be anything? Maybe AI is taking over!

I am frankly surprised that the figure quoted here is as low as 3 out of four resumes.
Resumes now need to be structured in such a way that the content is not only machine-readable but that it contains content (including key words) which the AI will recognise. The Washington Post recently published some advice about this.
