Roxy Furman, a 24-year-old wildlife filmmaker and photographer based in the UK, shared insights into her journey and passion for conservation in a recent interview. Roxy’s path into wildlife filmmaking involved extensive volunteering, earning a First Class Honours degree in Zoology, establishing her own business (Zephyr Eco Market), and dedicated practice shared on social media. She further honed her skills by enrolling in a Masters in Wildlife Filmmaking at UWE in collaboration with the BBC NHU.
Motivated by a desire to address human impact on the planet and animals, Roxy works towards creating a more harmonious and sustainable world. She emphasizes the importance of practical experience and encourages aspiring individuals to create their content, showcasing genuine passion.
Roxy’s advice to young enthusiasts includes proactive measures such as creating content independently, volunteering, spending time outdoors, and reaching out to others for advice.
