The Pathways 2 Procurement NHS Graduate Training Scheme is a great option for geographers interested in careers in supply chain management!

Details:

This a two year programme working with the NHS and NHS affiliates with two rotations in positions dealing with all the aspects of procurement. This involves researching and sourcing any product that moves through the NHS from pens to heart monitors, buying and tendering the products, contract management, and inventory management of any supplies. This is a great way for geographers to apply their data management skills and for physical geographers to help the NHS achieve their goal of being net zero by 2040 using sustainable procurement practices.

Benefits:

Pay: Band 4
Earned Qualifications: Level 4 CIPS Qualification
While on the scheme, candidates will study for the CIPS Level 4 Commercial
Procurement and Supply Apprenticeship

Requirements:

  • 2.2 degree (does not need to be any medically related degree, they take people of all degrees)
  • Commitment to NHS values
  • Computer literacy
  • Presentation and communication skills

Unfortunately, it does not. I would’ve applied if it did, but I believe the NHS Graduate Management Scheme does if you are interested in something more medical based.
