It seems that big tech companies are taking the lead of funding of AI projects. From 2022 to 2023, there has been a sharp rise in funding for generative AI, however it was largely traditional investors who were the main groups funding these projects and startups.
This rather large shift is curious to look at. Not only does it mark the increased seriousness of AI, which we have all seen through the various technologies, startups and products, such as ChatGPT, it also shows that more companies are putting it to use and wish to seriously expand upon current AI capabilities.
