A good presentation must have these 4:
- Clear
- Scientifically Sound
- Engaging
- Creative
In this Part 1, we will be covering the first two:
1. Clear:
- Neat, tidy and uniform slides (consider diversity)
- Good figure/text balance
- Reasonable length (10-15 slides-1 slide per minute)
- Use headings:
- Introduction (2-5 slides)
- Findings (3-7 slides)
- Conclusion/ethical concerns/future work (2-4 slides)
- When presenting:
- Try to learn your script
- Minimise fluffing
- Speak clearly
2. Scientifically Sound:
- Only use appropriate sources(peer-reviewed)
- Ensure the information you convey is correct
- Reference correctly and in the correct and uniform format
- Read papers thoroughly and ensure you understand them
- When you present data(graph, tables):
- Make sure they are clear and visible and have all their parts
- Clear caption
- Be able to explain what is shown
