These schemes sound like such a fantastic opportunity! For someone who’s passionate about journalism but hasn’t had much formal experience yet, what would you suggest as the best way to stand out during the application process? Would having a portfolio of articles and media content be helpful?

Yes, thats a great idea. For people who go into media and television they often have a showreel. I imagine this could be replicated in a more suitable format for journalism with a portfolio of articles, posts and experiences.
