Have to say, AQA and Edexcel really did me dirty during my GCSE. Our year was to first to have the new grading scheme for all the subjects (9-1) and so our year was almost used as test subjects for the new system. Due to this, our grades were heavily moderated and we received lower grades. One of my subjects (3d design), I was expected and had actually already received a grade 9 for, I was very proud of this, I loved wood and metal working. After moderation, I received a grade 5 (barely a pass), I was furious and appealed it but it was a stern NO! Life is unfair sometimes, it is what it is.

The grading system changes definitely posed challenges for many. It’s frustrating when your hard work isn’t reflected accurately!
