Girl's brain tumour misdiagnosed for three years

Tia Gordon, 11, experienced a harrowing journey of misdiagnoses and multiple doctor visits before finally being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Initially presenting symptoms in March 2020, Tia was treated for stomach bugs and migraines, with her glasses prescription being changed multiple times. It wasn’t until she started having difficulty walking that a CT scan revealed a 3.5cm tumor. Following surgery earlier this year, 96% of the benign tumor was removed, and Tia is now undergoing physiotherapy to regain normalcy. Despite her mother’s persistent efforts, including numerous doctor visits and calls to NHS 111, Tia’s condition worsened before the correct diagnosis was made.
