This is really helpful for someone that is interested in languages as I didn’t know about all these different methods. I usually just use apps but don’t seem to make much progress. They will all be things that I will take a look at.
Thanks for sharing this! I’ve mainly been using apps and books to learn languages, but International House London sounds like a great option to explore.
Fully agree with this! However, which language do you think would be the most beneficial for university students in the UK to learn, considering current global trends and job market demands?
Learning a new language is such a great way to enhance your CV and open up new opportunities! I’ve been thinking about trying out a new language myself. Do you have any recommendations for which language might be most beneficial or interesting to learn, especially if you’re aiming to work in international business or travel? And have you tried any of these resources personally, or do you have any favourites?
For me, there is no definite answer. It really depends on the personal interests and the industry you aim to work in. For example, for global business, Mandarin and Spanish are great. For tech, Japanese and German are valuable. For diplomacy, French and Arabic might be useful. It is important to be motivated throughout the journey of learning a new language!
For international business and travel, Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese and German are are highly recommended. Those languages open doors to significant markets and diverse cultures. I am taking a language class in uni currently. Many universities also provide choices of night classes and the time arrangement could be very flexible!
