Keir Starmer unveils plan for large nuclear expansion across England and Wales

The UK, like many other countries, has been focusing on increasing capacity, development and deployment of clean energy projects. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is initiating a departure from prior policy, new reactors will be able to be built anywhere in the UK, no longer being restricted to building on 8 designated nuclear sites. The plan significantly also involves construction of small modular reactors (SMRs), and PM Sir Starmer is also calling on greater public-private sectors’ collaboration, including to also develop SMRs to power AI data centres.

I think this is an exciting project, hopefully it is something that is able to start soon and bring the UK closer to a more stable and renewable energy mix.
