if you want to work on the event planning side of things in a museum, do you think it’s important to have a background in history or art, or is experience in project management and event coordination enough to get your foot in the door? Also, how do you think events like these webinars and workshops can help build connections or get real experience in the field?

I believe that the museums space will always be preferential to people who have experience in it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work for a larger events company that then gets hired by a museum.

Webinars and workshops are great opportunities for networking! I recommend trying to talk to people you enjoyed hearing from and either shooting them an email the next day or connecting with them on LinkedIn!
