A CV for a graduate scheme should highlight your academic achievements, relevant skills, experiences, and interests. Here are the key focus points to include:

  1. Personal Information: Include your contact details, name, phone number, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if applicable).
  2. Profile or Objective: A brief statement summarizing your career goals, skills, and what you can offer to the graduate scheme. Tailor this to the specific program you’re applying for.
  3. Education: List your university degree(s) with the institution name, degree title, graduation date (or expected graduation date), and any honors or awards received. Include relevant coursework, particularly if it aligns with the graduate scheme.
  4. Relevant Work Experience: Highlight internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer experiences related to the field you’re applying for. Focus on transferable skills gained, achievements, and responsibilities.
  5. Skills: Highlight both hard skills (e.g., programming languages, software proficiency, languages spoken) and soft skills (e.g., communication, teamwork, leadership) that are relevant to the graduate scheme.
  6. Projects or Research: Include any significant projects, dissertations, or research work that demonstrates your analytical, problem-solving, or innovative abilities. Highlight how these projects relate to the graduate scheme.
  7. Extracurricular Activities: Showcase involvement in clubs, societies, sports, or any leadership roles held. Emphasize skills developed or experiences gained that are applicable to the graduate scheme.
  8. Achievements and Awards: Mention any relevant awards, scholarships, or recognition received during your academic or professional journey.
  9. Certifications or Training: Include any additional certifications, workshops, or training programs that add value to your application and demonstrate your commitment to learning and self-improvement.
  10. References: Optionally, provide references or mention that they are available upon request. Make sure you have permission from individuals before listing them as references.

Remember to tailor your CV for each graduate scheme application, emphasizing specific skills and experiences that match the requirements outlined in the job description. Also, ensure your CV is well-organized, concise, and free from errors.

Agree with @amrita here. A big difference between a graduate scheme CV and a standard CV, in my opinion is that, you hsould greatly research all the department/ areas you will be working in (unlikely just the one for a standard role) and show your interest in each one of those.

How do you fit in?
What value can you provide here?
Why you?

All the things you would do for the standard role CV but you should do this for each department/ area you will be working in when applying for a graduate scheme role.
