Dementia Journeys arrives at London Bridge Station

The Empowering Better End of-Life Dementia Care (EMBED-Care) research program is showcasing Dementia Journeys at London Bridge Station from October 30 to November 5. This exhibition features emotive cartoon strips by graphic novelist Dr. Ian Williams, highlighting the stories of three women—Fran, Keiko, and Tia—who provided palliative care for loved ones with dementia.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness about dementia as a life-limiting condition, promote understanding of palliative dementia care, and advocate for better support for unpaid caregivers. Professor Katherine Sleeman emphasized that dementia is a leading cause of death in England, noting that approximately 1 in 3 people will receive a dementia diagnosis in their lifetime. With 130,567 people passing through London Bridge Station daily, the exhibit targets a large audience to highlight the urgent need for high-quality care for individuals with dementia.
