Nervous about your first interview or maybe need to polish up those conversational skills; just leave a post below.
I need advice as this is my first interview ever.
Sure, I will be happy to guide you through a few things to work on before your interview:
1. Research the company
2. Research the interviewers
3. Decide what to wear
4. Plan your route to the interview
5. Review the job description and your application
6. Prepare questions
7. Think about the questions you might have to answer
8. Prepare for different types of interview
9. Hold a mock interview
10. Get enough sleep
11. Eat a healthy meal
I am sure if you follow these steps, you will be successful, let me know how it goes. Good luck!
One key advice which got me my first job whilst at sixth form is talking to your career advisors about your concerns and worries you might have. I asked my form tutor and she sent me to the careers team. They arranged a mock interview and gave me excellent feedback at the end. The lady at careers did a great work because she also researched a little about the company and had a rough idea of what the questions would be like. IT WAS VERY HELPFUL. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, always comes handy.
Be yourself, I have never been the loudest in the room yet I’ve secured every interview! Employers love a sense of authenticity and confidence
Confidence is a powerful thing, @amesbanks !
Something I do that helps me with confidence is talking to interviewers a little bit informal such as talking about what I did on my day so they can see I am not nervous and what I am like.
