New Allowances made for Breastfeeding Athletes at Paris 2024

Some more great news for women’s sport… The French committee will now provide hotel rooms for breastfeeding athletes during the Paris Olympics!

Traditionally, children are banned from entering the athletes’ village where athletes stay for the duration of the Games, but many athletes have been campaigning for new mothers and their needs to nurse to be taken more seriously.

Breastfeeding French sportswomen will be offered rooms in a hotel close to the athletes’ village, which can be used by the athletes to sleep with their infants. There will also be a special social area for families at the hotel!]

Huge step forward in helping mums return to sport following childbirth and sends a strong message that the needs of mums are to be prioritised both in sport and in every workplace.
