I found uni extremely hard to adjust to as I am a huge family person. I would often find myself wanting to leave uni to go back home and leave. It took a good 5 months for me to settle in and find myself feeling happy. It’s important to have time for yourself and to do the things you love. I found myself slowly getting accustomed when I wasn’t 100% study study study. The important thing is balance. Time for you and to study. The dark whole that you may feel like you’re in at the start may aliviate when doing things that you find enjoyable.

Same. Difference with me is that I havent left for uni yet and I already know im going to get homesick all the time. I am a big family person too, and I am so used to noise all the time. Let’s see how I settle in with all quiet.

One of the ways to make the transition easier is definitely calling your family. I would call my family sometimes 3 times a day. Everyday I would call home. It was my way of fealing with my homesickness

If youre moving into freshers accommodation it will probably not be too quiet with a mixture of firealarms and many people living in a space but it is plenty liveable in my experience, i really enjoyed it
