How much should you exercise for a longer, healthier life?

A recent study from the University of Jyväskylä highlights the multifaceted nature of factors influencing longevity and a healthy life. While genetics and gender are unchangeable factors, modifiable habits like nutrition, physical activity, stress management, avoiding smoking, and quality sleep play significant roles.

The study challenges the notion that exercise alone is the key to a longer life. Examining leisure-time physical activity and mortality risk in over 11,000 sets of adult twins, researchers found that while physically active individuals had lower all-cause mortality risk, accounting for other lifestyle factors significantly reduced the sedentary group’s mortality rate.
