Researchers conducted qualitative interviews with couples attending a Central England National Health Service specialist clinic to explore the lived experiences of pregnancy following recurrent miscarriages. The study, conducted between May and July 2021, involved early pregnancy scans and a 12-week dating scan. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, partners couldn’t accompany women to the clinic, and interviews were conducted by video. The focus was on understanding post-traumatic distress, intensified grief, and depression during pregnancy following recurrent miscarriages, providing deeper insights into these experiences. The findings suggest a pervasive sense of anxiety throughout the gestational and postnatal period.
