Defying some common myths about pop psychology.

The ‘trauma makes you stronger’ misconception is the one i hear the most nowadays.
What doesn’t help situation is a constant glorification of trauma in social media and even young adult books, for example. Nowadays almost every young person wants to have some kind of a traumatic experience or romanticises people who’s gone through them. Whereas in reality, it’s very devastating and shocking, and is something you wouldn’t wish for anyone.
I’m honestly concerned that so many people seem to feel the need to be victimised or oppressed in some way. (See trauma )
Many people should read this!!!
I think it’s important to be mindful of how we engage with such content and prioritise self-care. But, it’s crucial to remember that actual trauma, experienced in real life, often requires professional support and healing. Both are significant in their own ways, and self-care remains essential for both.
so many people blame their behaviour on trauma to avoid taking accountability for their actions!!
